Surrealim is an "ugly beast" (Italian phrase meaning anything that proves difficult, thorny to be dealt with): so many current Surrealist artists simply add something strange to very normal subjects, or badly copy the works made one century ago by the fathers of the movement, or throw too many useless details onto the canvas.
I plainly venture to say that Soulcollector13 is among the most talented Surrealist artists today. His style is unique, immediately recognizable at first sight. His subject matters include a specific, personal, well chosen set of characters, landscapes, etc., which perfectly convey his worldview: joyful and sad, refined and popular, uncanny and enchanting.
This very work is among the best samples, a masterpiece.
